This summer, a young and adventurous couple from the LSE will set out to make it from the lowest point in western Europe, to the highest point in Europe overall, fully under human power. Ben Treasure and Erin Duffy will cycle more than 5000 kilometres across Europe, Turkey and Georgia, before climbing to the finish line at the summit of Mount Elbrus in Russia. They will be exploring the challenges that face the young people they meet along the way, all the while raising money for Big Change.

I couldn’t be more pleased that the STRIVE Challenge has inspired such an enterprising young couple in Ben and Erin to go out and attempt their own awe inspiring journey. I will be following avidly and supporting in anyway I can. They represent exactly what we stand for at Big Change and we are proud that Ben and Erin will be flying our flag.

Of the many qualities and traits it takes to push one’s body and mind to the limits, passion is one that sits firmly within my core values and I see the same quality within Ben and Erin. I have no doubt that this, amongst a number of other firm qualities, will see them complete this challenge and many more. I wish them all the best.

Join the journey

Ben and Erin will be exploring the challenges faced by young people across Europe in their blog ‘crossing the continent’, as well as documenting the trip on social media.
